Bimal Das Gupta (Shooting Villiers Case)
President of the European Association and Peddie Case Born 1911 at Basanda, Barisal, Bangladesh. S/O late Akshay Kumar Das Gupta. Joined Sri Sangha at the age of 17. Shot James Peddie, DM of Midnapore in April 1931. In October 1931 areested while shooting Villiers, President of the European Association. Sentenced to 10yrs RI there was no direct evidence so could not be convicted in Peddie's Case. Deported to Andamans in 1932. Participated in both hunger strikes and then in another in Dum Dum Central. Repatriated in 1938 january. Released from Barisal jail in 1940. Total Jail period 9 years.
Ganesh Ghosh (Chittagong Armoury Raid Case)
S/o Bipin Ghosh , s/o Bipin Ghosh, Binodpur, Jessore, Bangladesh. Took part in Chittagong Armoury Raid Case. Absconded but arrested by the police on 4th Septmber 1930 after an encounter at Chandannagar.Sentenced to life term on 1st March 1932. deported to Andamans.Repatriated in 1937-38.
Gulab Chand Gupta (Motihari Conspiracy Case)
S/O Ramphal ram. Residence Chanpathia, Bethia, Champaran, Bihar. Sent up in 1929. Awarded 10 yrs sentence on 16 Dec 1929. Repatriated during 1937/38
Nandlal Das Gupta (Barisal Action Case)
Born 04.05.1915, Beldakhan, Jhalkathi, Barisal, Bangladesh. S/o Late Surendranath Das Gupta- Ayurvedic physician. Joined the Yugantar Party at the age 14. Directly connected in two cases of Barisal District. Arrested in June 1934 with revolver and cartridges. Sentenced 5 years prison term. Deported to Andamans. Participated in the second hunger strike. Interned in 1940. Got a conviction for 6 months for violating internment order. Total jail period 6 years.
